Every word here opens with a definition nobody paid for. Anyone may replace the published meaning by paying — $3.00 for the first change, double the last price every time after. Every meaning ever published stays on the page underneath the current one.

What you buy is a licence to have your text shown as the current meaning of one word, until someone pays more. Not the word, not exclusivity, not permanence, not any right in the site. Being replaced is the mechanism, not a failure of it.

You keep whatever rights you had in what you wrote, and grant this site a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish and keep it as part of the dictionary and its history, including after it is replaced. You confirm you have the right to publish it.

Most revision 0 definitions are adapted from Wiktionary and Wikipedia under CC BY-SA 4.0, with the source named on the entry, and carry that licence onward. The rest were written for this dictionary. Neither was bought.

A purchase may be refused, a definition removed, a mistake corrected, the catalogue changed, and these terms changed — never backwards, onto a purchase already made. If the site closes, money paid for a definition no longer published is returned.

The site is provided as it is. It is a dictionary whose definitions were bought by strangers, so nothing in it is a statement of fact, advice, or an endorsement. Liability for any claim is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before it arose, except where the law does not allow that limit — including fraud, and the consumer rights of where you live.
